From October 28 to 30, 2025, the Division of Graduate Studies (DoGS) held the Poster Presentations and Research Exchanges by DoGS Fellows at the International Conference Hall of the Clock Tower Centennial Hall, Kyoto University.

This event aims to provide doctoral students financially supported by the Division of Graduate Studies with an opportunity to present their research findings and engage in discussions and exchanges beyond the boundaries of their departments and laboratories, thereby enhancing their qualities as researchers and developing their transferable skills.
In addition, research professionals from industry and Research Administrators (URAs) from Kyoto University’s Office of Research Acceleration also participated. Through discussions and exchanges with people from diverse fields and backgrounds, students were provided with opportunities to reflect on their own research activities and consider their future career paths.

Following an encouraging address by Professor Takao Hirashima, Director of the Division of Graduate Studies, a total of 179 students gave poster presentations over three days: 70 on October 28, 55 on October 29, and 54 on October 30. The presenters represented a wide range of fields, including Humanities and Social Sciences, Information and AI, Quantum Science and Technology, Materials Sciences, Health, Medical and Biostudies, and Environment, Energy, and Interdisciplinary Studies.
Starting this year, the implementation of the DoGS SPRING Program’s training contents began, and this event became one of its compulsory contents. Accordingly, in addition to presenting their own research, students were expected to actively engage in discussions and interactions with other presenters, allowing them to demonstrate the transferable skills they have developed through their research and put into practice what they have learned in the transferable skills training.
As a result, students actively visited the presentations of other students and participating companies, engaging not only in attentive listening but also in lively communication. The post-event questionnaire confirmed that many students had thoroughly reflected on their own presentations and participation experiences, identifying new insights and areas for improvement. By putting these reflections into words, students were provided with a valuable opportunity to output and consolidate their learning.

As in the previous year, consultation booths regarding internship opportunities were set up by the C-ENGINE and the Coop-J Consortium (Akariq Inc.). A total of 11 companies participating in both consortia took part over the three days, along with URAs from Kyoto University’s Office of Research Acceleration.
Over the three days, approximately 100 students, faculty, staff, and company representatives visited the venue, creating an environment for active exchanges across disciplines and roles among students, faculty members, and industry participants.
