Call for Applications: 2026 Kyoto University Amgen Scholars Program (Deadline: February 1, 2026)

Kyoto University is pleased to announce that applications for the 2026 Kyoto University Amgen Scholars Program are now open.

The Amgen Scholars Program, supported by the Amgen Foundation in the United States, is primarily aimed at fostering the next generation of innovators in biotechnology and advancing science education for undergraduate students in science-related fields who aspire to become researchers.

At Kyoto University, a host institution in Japan, participants will gain hands-on research experience in assigned laboratories, providing a valuable opportunity to take the first steps toward becoming future scientists.

In addition, a joint symposium is planned with the University of Tokyo, the National University of Singapore, Tsinghua University, and the International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad, offering a platform for building international networks.

This is a unique chance to live and study in Kyoto, a city rich in culture and tradition. We look forward to receiving your applications.

June 5 – August 6, 2026

General eligibility
Undergraduate students (1st to 3rd year at the time of application) enrolled in science-related programs at colleges and universities in Asia

Number of participants
Approximately 10

Financial support

Scholarship (¥180,000), travel costs and accommodation
